The next social will be at Stubborn Mule Brewery Tap, Unit 1 Skelton Rd, Timperley, Altrincham WA14 1S on Saturday 17th May starting at 1pm. Altrincham Tram to either Timperley or Navigation Road with a short 10/15 minute walk to the brewery. A beer from the wood will be on, which will be a brown ale. Central London Branch Pub Evaluation Walk
Our ‘walk’ on Wednesday 18th June at 7pm features just one pub:
The Express Tavern, 56 Kew Bridge Road, Brentford, TW8 0EW.
It was originally a coaching Inn stop from London to Bath. The building is thought to
date from the 1860, and the pub has been a local landmark for more than 200 years.
There are 10 real ale handpumps and up to 5 ciders/perries on handpump. Bass and
Harvey’s Sussex Best always on, and a wide range of other beers. Seen recently
were Big Smoke Solaris, Deja Hokum English Porter, Exeter Ferryman, Fraid Knot &
MC6, Dorking Stanza XPA, Stardust English Bitter, Kew Bridge Best Bitter, Five
Points Railway Porter.
Food is served all day, and there is a large beer garden. Cash & card taken.
Nearest rail station is Kew Bridge (2 minutes)
Nearest Tube station is Kew Gardens (c 10 minutes across Kew Bridge)
Buses running outside include 110, 237, 267, route 65 runs close by.
Cask ale as an Intangible Cultural Heritage
There is a petition calling on the Government to recognise the production and serving of traditional British cask ale as an Intangible Cultural Heritage. These are traditions, expressions, knowledge, and skills passed down through generations within communities and groups, recognized as part of their cultural heritage. Examples include oral traditions, performing arts, social practices, rituals, festive events, and traditional crafts.

Greater Manchester SPBW Branch Social
The next Greater Manchester SPBW Branch Social will be at The Ladybarn Social Club 13 Green St, Ladybarn Ln, Manchester M14 6TL on Saturday 26th April at 1pm There will be a beer from the wood on from Stancil brewery called Secret Potion a blonde beer at 4%. The Ladybarn is about 10 mins walk from Mauldeth Road Train station depending on how fast you walk. Bus number 50 from St. Peters Square drops you closer to the venue. All welcome.
