The previous year’s winning team is responsible for organising and setting questions for the current year. Last year’s winning team, held at the ‘Rising Sun’, Epsom was named the ‘Fun Boys’. There will also be a Woodfest WBOB presentation to Phoenix brewery for their 3rd placed ‘Wobbly Bob’. |

| Date/Time | Start meetup on Friday between 5 PM and 7 PM at the ‘Sir John Oldcastle’, 29-35 Farringdon Road, EC1M 3JF. (Opposite Farringdon tube and train station). |

| Details | Friday 9th – An evening in Holborn and five pubs within short walking distance. These include the famous Ye Olde Mitre, plus a pub with up to 16 beers, and a new Thornbridge pub. Options to visit a Brodies pub or a pub on the site of the old Newgate prison. or a grade II listed pub said to have ‘possibly the best preserved Victorian interior in London’. Saturday 10th– Historic Kingston upon Thames, where the first King of all England was crowned. Includes a 17th century coaching inn, an old riverside pub and Park brewery which has featured in several Woodfests. Sunday 11th – UNESCO World Heritage site Greenwich. Visit Dog and Bell a longstanding ale pub, River Ale House Greenwich’s only micro pub and onetime SPBW London pub of the year. Chance to visit Queens House or Maritime museum for free, or explore more riverside inns, see the Cutty Sark or visit Greenwich market. Meal dinner in Richard the First pub. Then end the night in an excellent ale pub in Waterloo East backstreets.# Full day by day itinerary will be handed out to attendees at the meetup on Friday. Please contact organisers as soon as possible, but by the latest 11th September, especially if you plan to come to the dinner at the Richard First, so we are aware of numbers planning to attend. Plans are finalised but may change slightly before the event depending on circumstances. |

| Details | SPBW annual anniversary event in Epsom at the pub where we were founded on 6th December 1963. All members are very welcome, and we have enjoyed ourselves here over the years. Can people please indicate if they will be attending. There is no buffet. Christmas Menu and Sunday Roasts are available along side the usual menu. Food 2 PM approx In the event of rail engineering works. A simpler and quicker way than replacement buses is to get a fast train to Surbiton. From there 406 and 418 buses go to Epsom every quarter of an hour or so ( exit Surbiton station from the back entrance and walk up to Ewell road for the bus stop). |
