Following the successful fifth national ‘Woodfest V’ at the Musical Museum in Brentford
at the end of May, there was what is called a ‘Wash-Up’ meeting on the 23rdAugust to discuss
what went well and not so well, so that things can be tweaked for next year’s sixth ‘Woodfest’.
The ‘Woodfest Volunteer of the Year (VoTY)’ wooden tankard was presented to
Angela Aspin (See photo on page 2 of the website ‘Photo Gallery’).
The tankard was given to the Society by the ‘Worshipful Company of Coopers’ in 2022 for
‘Woodfest III’. Angela is the third recepient.
Next year’s festival (Woodfest VI) dates are 14-16th May 2026, again at the Musical Museum
Brentford.
The formation of next year’s planning ‘Collective’ was started and held it’s first meeting
in October.
A special plea for more SPBW members to help out with the ‘Set-up’ (11-13th May) and
‘Take Down’ (17th May) is made. Please indicate your interest in helping out, by emailing
‘WOODFESTSIX@GMAIL.COM’ by mid December 2025. Further contact about which
dates and times you can help will be asked for in early 2026.
